Opsessed with RevOps

Get your CRM right the first time, so you are not unpicking it later on.

You know exactly where your business lives right now

Maybe it is spreadsheets and a shared inbox. Deals tracked in a tab someone updates when they remember, follow-ups living in one person's head, handovers done by forwarding an email and hoping someone remembers...

Maybe your email marketing tool has quietly become your customer database, because it was the only place holding contacts and nobody planned it that way.

Or maybe you already bought a Customer Relationship Management system (CRM). It got half set up, nobody was ever really shown how to use it, and within a few months everyone drifted back to spreadsheets. It is still on the bank statement making your eyes water.

All three work, right up until they don't. Usually that is the month you hire your second salesperson, or the founder stops being the only person who knows what is going on, and suddenly nobody can answer a simple question about where the business currently stands.

hree common starting points: spreadsheets and a shared inbox, a mailing tool holding contact data, and a CRM nobody uses.

Let's rewind, what is RevOps?

Revenue operations (RevOps) is the unglamorous work of making sales, marketing and customer success behave like one team instead of three. One definition of a lead. One definition of a customer. One set of numbers everybody works from.

Most businesses bolt those three together years after the fact and spend a long time untangling it.

If you are setting up now, you can build it in from the beginning. Done in the right order it costs you almost nothing extra. Done later, it means migrating three years of messy data and retraining everyone, which is where the real bill comes from.

That is the whole argument for getting this right at the start rather than getting it working and fixing it later.

What is RevOps

Work out what you actually need

Before you buy anything, ask yourself...

  • How you genuinely sell and serve customers, rather than how a CRM demo assumed you do
  • What you need on day one, and what can wait until you are twice the size
  • Which platform and which tier, sized to your business honestly
  • What it will cost, including the parts that do not appear on the pricing page (AI credits, marketing contacts, enrichment etc.)

Set it up properly

  • Pipelines and deal stages that match how you win work
  • Contact, company and lifecycle definitions that mean the same thing to everybody
  • Your data moved out of spreadsheets and inboxes, and cleaned on the way in rather than after. One source of truth!
  • Automation for the handovers and follow-ups that currently depend on somebody remembering
  • Built so it still makes sense when you have three times the people in it

Get your team using it

  • Train the people who have to live in it
  • Make it easier than the spreadsheet, because otherwise they will go back to the spreadsheet after 3 months
  • Write it down, so the process survives somebody leaving

Reporting you can run the business on

  • Understand where your work comes from, and which sources are worth repeating
  • What is in the pipeline, what is stalling, and what is about to close
  • Data hygiene, so you don't clog your system with waste.
  • Which customers are quiet and need a hello without having to think about it.
  • Numbers you can put in front of a bank, a board or an investor without rebuilding them by hand, updated live.

But who is this for?

You will recognise yourself here if:

  • You have never had a CRM and it is starting to cost you
  • Your contact data lives in a mailing list tool that was never meant to hold it
  • You bought something shiny, it never landed, and the team went back to spreadsheets
  • You are about to hire salespeople and want the system in place before they arrive, not after
  • You are somewhere between about five and fifty people and the founder is still the only one with the full picture

If you already have a large, mature setup that needs a serious overhaul, that is a different conversation and we are happy to have it.

04 The ten second test

Operators, not an agency

We have worked with dozens of growing businesses on CRM implementation and strategy, and advised on the sales and marketing strategy sitting on top of it.

Our RevOps work is led by experienced team members, some with experience at HubSpot partners, as well as who has held the head of revenue operations role in a scaling business. Our team has experience in owning the systems, managing the day-to-day, and the providing the data and reporting that leadership relies on. We build CRMs efficiently, and teach teams how to use AI alongside it so they can triple their output.

We are not a platform partner and we earn nothing from your licence, meaning we can hold the platforms to account much more independently.

See how we did this for EquityEdge Studio by reading our case study.

RevOps Case Study EquityEdge

Where do I start?

  • CRM scoping workshop. Half a day on how you sell and serve. You come away knowing what you need, what it should cost, and what you can safely ignore for now. Useful whether or not you go any further with us.
  • Setup and migration. Built with you, your data moved across and cleaned on the way in, your team trained on it.
  • Ongoing support. By the day, not by the project, for as long as it is useful.

If we think you would be fine buying it yourself and following a decent guide, we will tell you that. It all depends on the knowledge, skillset and time constraints of the teams we work with.
