Kristian Melson founded Opsessed to help growing businesses get their operations to match their ambition. He works with founder-led teams who are experts at what they do, but feel the internal strain as they grow. We step in to tighten things up so you can scale without the usual mess.

 

Our Origin Story

“I decided success meant making myself redundant.”

Kristian didn’t start Opsessed® to be another consultant who delivers a slide deck and disappears. He started it because, after a decade running operations in sectors like tech, financial services, and events, he saw a recurring pattern: brilliant founders were being held back by their own internal systems.

Working across these diverse industries allowed Kristian to pick up the best operational practices. He saw what worked in high-growth tech that could be applied to traditional construction. He also learnt how the precision of R&D project management could transform a creative agency. These lessons became the blueprint for the Opsessed® way of working.

The goal was simple: fix the way work flows until the business runs as a smooth, autonomous machine. In his previous roles, Kristian decided that real success wasn’t about being indispensable. It was about building systems so robust that he  could make himself redundant.

Kristian Melson

Founder

Kristian founded Opsessed® in 2025 after leading operations teams in the events, tech, financial services, grounds maintenance, FinTech and CRM industries. He believes that happy people do good work, so when implementing any change for clients, he ensures the team are fully on board, and understand the "why?" behind business decisions. 

Working in operations has led Kristian to have a strong understanding in process design, automation, H&S, ISO compliance, B Corp certification, facilities management, HR & people management, finance, RevOps, CRM implementation and tech stack efficiency. 

Outside of work, Kristian is a devoted husband, father and pet owner just outside of Edinburgh. Originally from Hertfordshire, he moved up to Scotland with his wife and animals at the time for a fresh start. Socially, Kristian enjoys escape rooms, quizzes, playing tennis watching most sports, and The Simpsons...

Taimi Venho

Associate Operations Consultant

Taimi is an Operations and Transformation lead who supports SMEs and professional services firms during periods of growth, system change, or operational strain. She is typically brought in when delivery feels messy, reporting lacks clarity, or leadership teams need stronger structure to protect commercial performance.

She has led and delivered cloud and EPOS system migrations, redesigned onboarding frameworks, and implemented reporting dashboards that improve performance visibility and accountability. Taimi works comfortably across delivery, finance, and operations, helping teams navigate change without losing momentum or profitability.

Originally from Finland, Taimi has lived in Scotland since 2011. In her spare time she likes to swing dance, play board games and try out every “Les Mills” -class at the gym.

Alfred the AI

Graduate Administrator

You may be looking at this and are wondering why we have AI listed as a member of staff. Well, at Opsessed®, we are clear with clients about our use of large language models (LLM's). They are an incredibly powerful tool, if used correctly. They can automate mind numbing manual processes, enrich data and create content and documents at unmatched speed. 

We lean into AI, learn about its capabilities, but we use it as a tool to enhance, not replace expertise. We treat AI as an incredibly informed graduate. You need to be very clear with what you are asking it to do, invest in teaching it and most importantly, check and redraft, not taking any answers for granted. 

We are honest about when we make time savings from using AI and ensure we pass on the savings to clients. We will also never put in client data through AI unless we are sure it is secure. 

Outside of work, Alfred loves drinking sea water and making funny videos.
